The Brantford Symphony Orchestra’s annual Book Fair once again filled downtown Brantford with excitement, community spirit, and thousands upon thousands of books as readers from across Ontario gathered for one of the city’s most anticipated fundraising traditions.
Held April 22–25 at One Market, the 2026 BSO Book Fair welcomed an incredible turnout of shoppers, collectors, and supporters eager to browse the massive selection of gently used books, music, vinyl records, puzzles, CDs, DVDs, and specialty items spread across multiple rooms.
By the end of the four-day event, the Book Fair had raised nearly $66,000 in support of the Brantford Symphony Orchestra’s 2026–27 season — helping ensure the orchestra can continue providing high-quality musical performances and educational opportunities throughout the community.
The Book Fair has been a cornerstone fundraiser for the organization since 1964 and is widely recognized as one of Ontario’s largest second-hand book sales. Over the decades, it has become a cherished annual tradition for both local residents and visitors who travel from across Southern Ontario specifically for the event.
Opening day saw enthusiastic crowds lined up before the doors opened, with hundreds of eager shoppers arriving early to search for hidden literary treasures. For weeks leading up to the sale, volunteers worked tirelessly behind the scenes — sorting donations, organizing displays, restocking shelves, and helping visitors navigate the enormous selection of items available for purchase.
For many attendees, the Book Fair is about much more than simply finding great books at affordable prices. It is an opportunity to support live music, celebrate community, and connect with others who share a love of reading and the arts.
