Wynn Allen was a generous and dedicated ambassador for the Brantford Symphony Orchestra. Always a positive spokesperson for the arts, she celebrated music with a passion that radiated from her smile. Wynn has left an irreplaceable void.

ALLEN – E. Wynn Never one to turn down a gin and tonic or a song, Wynn Allen was a bright spark to all who knew her. Wynn passed away peacefully at the Stedman Community Hospice on December 13th, 2020 after a sudden and courageous battle with cancer at age 78. Wynn moved to Canada from her home country of Wales in 1969. In those early years she worked for the Brant County Separate School Board as a speech therapist and raised her three children, of whom she was very proud. In her retirement she placed a high value on giving back. For many years she sat on the board of the Brantford Symphony Orchestra, made weekly visits to Brantwood, volunteered at the Brantford General Hospital and lent her time to St. Mark’s Anglican Church where she made many lasting friendships. A fearless world traveler, Wynn was always going somewhere and was never short of ideas or plans. She taught English in China, volunteered at an orphanage in Malawi and was headed to Russia in 2020 had life not intervened. Her beautiful smile and plucky Welsh spirit will be remembered by her many friends and family. Wynn is survived by her beloved children Matthew (Jeannaine), Catherine and Peter (Marie-Chantal), and her much adored grandchildren Olivia and Brynn and Olivia. Her beloved brother Alan passed away in August 2020. In keeping with Wynn’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to pay their respects at the McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Road N. Brantford on Sunday from 1-3 pm. A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 3 pm.
